Some companies give more weightage in their model to the external factors like market, technology trend and competitors. Researches from MIT used the education and job histories of startup founders from LinkedIn whereas the researchers from CMU used numerous basic, financial and managerial factors in the predictive models. ![]() However, it is not clear which factors influence its probability of success. It is valuable to know whether a startup can be a success (IPO or acquisition by bigger companies) or whether a startup can get funding to survive.
